I just realized that I spend a tremendous amount of time on the internet, surfing around, checking my email, checking facebook (I am one of those silent stalkers who are always online but never update their status), checking my email again.. In other words: doing nothing. So, one day I thought, why not do something useful of at least some of this time. And the idea was born. Why not learn tagalog?
The goal of the project
The one and only goal of this project is to become a fluent tagalog speaker within less than one year from now (March 2012). Why in less than one year? I aim to finish the project with a trip to the Philippines and the nicest period to go is when Sweden is as dark and unfriendly as it can get, i.e. in Dec-Feb. That's why I have less than a year to fulfill the project.
Why tagalog?
Eight years ago I worked on a cruise line sailing in the Caribbean (yeah, it was marvellous!) where half of the crew was filipino. To make the everyday life more challanging - and since I am a language nerd - I just had to learn the most necessary words in the filipino language tagalog. However, my tagalog development was roughly abrubted when I one day decided to leave the ship and it has been sleeping deeply ever since. Until now.

Who is participating?
This project was initiated by me and I am the project manager and also the only participant. As simple as that.
